4 Steps Keyword Research Guide
keyword research is the corner stone of every SEO campaign. This kind of research has now to be really subtle, which requires lots of work and brainstorming. There are lots of guides out there, sometimes really misleading. I do not claim that my guide is perfect, but I give you the tools and I describe what to do with them to get a result. I hope you can make the most of this guide, and get .the very right kind of visitors to your website
Research
1-Collect the keywords
2-Sieve the data
3-Segment the data
4-Build a keyword map
Step 1. Collect the keywords:
At the first stage of your research, you have to collect all the possible keywords to further analyze them and pick the ones that will work best for you. The process may seem to take ages, and the results can be bulky, but there are a few instruments and tricks that can tangibly speed things up.
Identify broad topics
Open your website or a page that you want to optimize for keywords. For example, if you research for the whole site, go through its navigation and segment the site into the broad topics that best describe the products or services that you offer. There can be brand information, product/service names, product/service category names, and any other information related to what you do that can be interesting and useful for the searcher.
Identify the keywords you already rank for
If your website is not new, then you most likely rank for some keywords already. Let’s get a list of them from Google Search Console. Log in to your account and go to Search Traffic > Search Analytics. Check the Impressions checkbox. Set the Dates filter to show 90 days of historical data. Then click Download to export the report in CSV.
Step 2. Sieve the data:
By now you should have a list of potential keywords so long that it can take you to the Moon and back. However, not all of these keywords are a good choice for your site. You should select those that have a perfect balance of bringing both traffic and profit. Thus, we have to do some initial filtering in order to proceed to keyword grouping and crafting keywords into your content.
There are two quantitative criteria that can make your list much more refined — the number of words in your phrases and the search volume.
1)Short tail vs. long-tail
2)Search volume
The filtering
So, we will do the initial filtering according to the two parameters we have just figured out. We will filter out the keyword phrases that consist of more than four words.
Step 3. Segment the data
you do not need your keywords to be in chaos. Neatly and logically organized data makes you see things in a more clear way. Thus, I suggest you should expose your keyword list to some segmentation. There are lots of ways to segment your keywords, but the universal ones for all niches are the following dimensions: semantics, searcher intent, search volume, and competition. Let’s work with them.
Semantic segmentation
In Rank Tracker go to the Target Keywords module -> the Keyword Map sub-module. You can see there so-called buckets — a list of semantic keyword groups that were automatically created for your target terms according to a cutting-age semantic clustering algorithm.
Operations with keyword groups
Segmentation by intent
At this stage of segmentation we need to introduce a new criterion — searcher intent. In order to buy something, people usually go through a few stages
a)Information
b)Research
c)Comparison
d)Purchase
So the formula for a perfect money keyword should be:
Relevant – Transnational – Max search volume – Min competition.
Step 4. Build a keyword map
To build a keyword map means to assign your researched keywords to specific landing pages of your website. Does everyone need to do that?
Hell yeah! When you did such a great job making a keyword dream list, you surely want to avoid keyword cannibalization. What is it? Imagine that several pages of your website are relevant to the same search query. In this case, these pages compete with each other in the SERPs for rankings. As a result, the page that can be less important may rank higher than the landing page you specifically target this keyword with.
Rank Tracker is fully equipped for the creation of a keyword map
Keyword Difficulty – The process .
The good thing about the described procedure is that it is more or less universal for any niche, however, you can apply different criteria for keyword segmentation, for example:
Branded vs non-branded keywords;
Geographic location;
Product line, etc.

Marketing principles
Marketing principles
Marketing principles refer to channeling the gap between service and product providers to service and product seekers. Also known as a way of satisfying needs.
The Marketing Mix or the “4 P’s” or the marketing principles are: promulgation
- product
- place
- promotion
- price
The concept of “the 4 p’s” has been replaced by the concept of the “7 p’s” they are
- product
- price
- place
- promotion
- people
- positioning
- packaging
These are employed to satisfy a target market’ or target demographic (the pool of potential customers).
Example:
- Product: Procter and Gamble introduces a new toothpaste designed to taste good and fight cavities. Logo and packaging designed in bright colors to appeal to kids of elementary school age to encourage more tooth brushing.
- Price: $2.00, and discounted by means of coupons
- Promotion: television and radio commercials, magazine and newspaper ads, and a website; these use bright colors and happy music, perhaps an animated cartoon character for a fun and family-friendly attitude
- Place (or distribution): Supermarkets, drugstores and discount stores such as Wal-Mart, the Internet has become an increasingly important place to conduct online shopping.
Target demographic:
- Mothers with kids who make toothpaste buying decisions for the family
Creating utility
The American Heritage Dictionary defines utility as “the quality or condition of being useful”. Utility is further defined as any quality and/or status that provides a product with the capability to satisfy the consumer’s wants and needs. Marketing is responsible for creating most of a product’s inherent utility.
There are four basic types of utility:
- Form utility: production of the good or service, driven by the marketing function. For example, Procter and Gamble turns raw ingredients and chemicals into toothpaste.
- Place utility: making the product available where customers will buy the product. Procter and Gamble secures shelf space for the toothpaste at a wide variety of retailers including supermarkets and drugstores.
- Time utility: making the product available when customers want to buy the product. Also the U.S. drugstore chain Walgreens has many locations open 24 hours a day, and since the 1990’s has placed most of their newer stores at major intersections.
- Possession utility: once you have purchased the product and you have rights to use the product as intended, or (in theory) for any use you would like.
A fifth type of utility is often defined along with the above four types:
- Image utility: the satisfaction acquired from the emotional or psychological meaning attached to products. Some people pay more for a toothpaste perceived to be more effective at fighting cavities and whitening teeth.
Marketing Management Process
- analyzing market opportunities,
- selecting target markets,
- designing marketing strategies,
- planning marketing programs,
- organizing, implementing and controlling the marketing effort.
Productivity Can Beat Creativity
Productivity is a measure of efficiency of person completing a task. We often assume that productivity means getting more things done each day. Wrong. Productivity is getting important things done consistently. And no matter what you are working on, there are only a few things that are truly important.
Being productive is about maintaining a steady, average speed on a few things, not maximum speed on everything.
Top Productivity Strategies
- Warren Buffett’s “2 List” Strategy: How to Maximize Your Focus and Master Your Priorities: This method comes from the famous investor Warren Buffett and uses a simple 3-step productivity strategy to help you determine your priorities and actions. You may find this method useful for making decisions and getting yourself to commit to doing one thing right away.
- The Ivy Lee Method: The Daily Routine Experts Recommend for Peak Productivity: This productivity strategy is straightforward: Do the most important thing first each day. The Ivy Lee Method is a dead simple way to implement this strategy.
- The 15-Minute Routine Anthony Trollope Used to Write 40+ Books: There is one common problem with the approach of ranking your priorities and doing the most important thing first, though. After ranking your priorities for the day, if the number one task is a really big project then it can leave you feeling frustrated because it takes a long time to finish. Writer Anthony Trollope, however, developed a solution to this common problem.
Simple Ways to Be More Productive Every Day
Step 1: Manage your energy, not your time.
If you take a moment to think about it, you’ll probably realize that you are better at doing certain tasks at certain times. What type of energy do you have in the morning? Afternoon? Evening? Determine what tasks each energy level and time of day are best suited for.
Step 2: Prepare the night before.
If you only do one thing each day then spend a few minutes each night organizing your to–do list for tomorrow. When I do it right, I’ll outline the article I’m going to write the next day and develop a short list of the most important items for me to accomplish. It takes 10 minutes that night and saves 3 hours the next day.
Step 3: Don’t open email until noon.
Sounds simple. Nobody does it. It took me awhile to get over the urge to open my inbox, but eventually I realized that everything can wait a few hours. Nobody is going to email you about a true emergency (a death in the family, etc.), so leave your email alone for the first few hours of each day. Use the morning to do what’s important rather than responding to what is “urgent.”
Step 4: Turn your phone off and leave it in another room.
Or on your colleague’s desk. Or at the very least, put it somewhere that is out of sight. This eliminates the urge to check text messages, Facebook, Twitter, and so on. This simple strategy eliminates the likelihood of slipping into half–work where you waste time dividing your attention among meaningless tasks.
Step 5: Work in a cool place.
Have you ever noticed how you feel groggy and sluggish in a hot room? Turning the temperature down or moving to a cooler place is an easy way to focus your mind and body. (Hat tip to Michael Hyatt for this one.)
Step 6: Sit up or stand up.
When you sit hunched over, your chest is in a collapsed position and your diaphragm is pressing against the bottom of your lungs, which hinders your ability to breathe easily and deeply. Sit up straight or stand up and you’ll find that you can breathe easier and more fully. As a result, your brain will get more oxygen and you’ll be able to concentrate better.
Step 7: Develop a “pre–game routine” to start your day.
My morning routine starts by pouring a cold glass of water. Some people kick off their day with ten minutes of meditation. Similarly, you should have a sequence that starts your morning ritual. This tiny routine signals to your brain that it’s time to get into work mode or exercise mode or whatever mode you need to be in to accomplish your task. Additionally, a per–game routine helps you overcome a lack of motivation and get things done even when you don’t feel like it.

17 Recent Facebook Updates
If you’re managing a Facebook page, you might have noticed that your layout changed sometime in July. That’s because Facebook was experimenting with a few layout variations.
Now it appears that Facebook has finalized the new layout and rolled it out across the board on all business pages. Love it or hate it, the new layout is here to say.
In this post, we’ve outlined 17 things you need to know about the new Facebook update.
1. The Facebook cover photo size has changed
Although the new size hasn’t changed by much, you may need to make some minor adjustments when creating Facebook cover photos. The old Facebook cover size was 851px by 315px while the new cover photo displays at 828px by 315px on desktop. This means that the width of the cover photos has slightly decreased. Not to worry, we’ve already updated our Facebook cover size and all of our templates inside of Snappa. If you need to convert an older cover photo to accommodate the new size, you can make use of our image resize feature.
2. The profile photo no longer overlaps with the cover photo
This is one change that we were very excited to see. The profile pictures is now located on the left side of the cover photo. With the profile picture out of the way, this frees up a lot more real estate on the cover photo itself. You no longer need to worry about accounting for the profile picture.
3. The like and share buttons have moved
Once again, Facebook has made the smart decision to move the like, message and share buttons that were previously overlapping the cover photo. Now they appear directly under the cover photo.
If you hover over the “More” dropdown, it gives you a full range of options for engaging with the company’s Facebook page.
This means that 100% of your Facebook cover photo will now be visible.
4. The navigation tabs are now on the left (and you can manage them)
Another thing that’s new is the location of the navigation tabs. Previously they were located on the top navbar and now they’ve moved to the left hand side of the page. What’s cool about the new navigation buttons is that you can actually add, remove or reorder the tabs. To do this, click on “Manage Tabs.”
5. The Call To Action button is prominent and customizable
In my opinion, this is one of the best changes that Facebook’s made in the new layout. Now all pages have a prominent blue call to action button on their page that is fully customizable
On our page, you’ll notice that we have a “Sign Up” button since we want people to try our software. However, you have tons of different options.
To customize your CTA button, hover over the button and click “Edit Button”. From there, you can specify what the button says and the website/app URL.
6. You can search for posts on the page
Facebook has introduced a handy little search box so you can easily search the page for older posts.
7. Sections are on the right side
The sections of your Facebook page are now located on the right hand side. This includes things like photos, videos, events, and so on.Just like the navigation tabs on the left, you can fully customize your page sections. By hovering over the the labels, you can click the pencil icon to add, delete, or rearrange sections.
8. Adding event RSVPs as an ad-targeting option.
9. Faster-loading links will be placed higher on mobile News Feeds.
10. Removing their apps Life stage and Groups.
11. Updating their clicks and ad impression reporting.
12. Updating video re-share metrics to give creators better insights.
13. Announcing their 2nd Quarter 2017 results.
14. Testing “going live” features from Facebook Camera.
15. Testing adding Stories to their desktop site.
16. Rolling out more Messenger ads globally.
17. Introducing two new video platforms, Watch and Show Pages.

Affiliation Is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts. The industry has four core players: the merchant (also known as ‘retailer’ or ‘brand’), the network (that contains offers for the affiliation to choose from and also takes care of the payments), the publisher (also known as ‘the affiliate’), and the customer.
